3 Weeks Old Tomorrow!

I can't believe our little guy will be 3 weeks old tomorrow ALREADY! Time is flying by! We went back to the doctor last week and he was up to 7 lbs. 9 oz. so we will go back this week for a weight check to be sure he is back up to his birth weight! Other than that, he is up to 19.5 inches long now and the doctor said he is looking really good! D.J. also got his 1st real bath last week, and he wasn't really sure what to think of it, but he sure loves being bundled up in his towel afterwards and getting all lotioned up!

As for Donny and me....I'm feeling A LOT better and am able to drive (and walk) again! I know I'm not going to want to go back to work when my 6 weeks is up though! Donny is also doing really well! He is awesome with D.J. and he has actually really surprised me with a lot of things...including changing poopy diapers! Stay tuned for more updates!!!

D.J.'s 1st Sponge Bath

D.J. got his 1st sponge bath last night and he wasn't too sure what to think about it! He wasn't too happy about being cold, but loved being cuddled up in the towel and he loved the lotion afterwards! I can't wait to see his reaction to a real tub bath in a couple of weeks!!! I'll have more pictures of that experience!

He's Here and 1 Week Old Today!!!

Our Sweet baby D.J. Donald Joseph) made his arrival on April 7, 2009 at 4:08 pm!!! He was 7 lbs., 12 oz., and 19.25 inches long! He is perfect, but I suppose our opinion is kind of bias! I was induced about 9:00 tuesday morning dilated to 3 cm, and received my epidural at about 10:00 when I was at 4 cm. The doctor came at around 12:30ish to check me out and I was at 9 cm already so we started the process slowly with a couple hour breaks in between to rest. I ended up with a 4th degree tear which is the worst possible, and I'm definitely feeling it, but it was definitely worth it! (The Lortab helps tremendously too!!!) We came home on Thursday and we've been doing really good! D.J. is sleeping and eating really well! Donny is doing awesome as well! I think his "Daddy" instinct kicked in automatically and he is a wonderful one at that! It's still hard to believe that this precious little guy is mine, and that he is finally here! I never thought it was possible to love anyone or anything as much as I do this baby boy!!!

Almost There!!!

We're almost there!!! 39 weeks down and just a few days to go!!! We went to the doctor this morning and I am 2 cm dilated, so he encouraged me to go out and walk, and we went ahead and scheduled induction for Tuesday morning at 7:00 if we don't go into labor before hand. I can't believe our little baby boy will be here in less than a week! I'll put pictures and updates up as soon as possible!!! Until then....I'm off to walk the mall!!!
