Christmas Time is Over, Looking Forward to 2009!!!

So, Christmas time is over, and now it's time to look forward to the New Year of 2009! Our Christmas was great and stayed calm which was very nice! We got lots of baby stuff from both families which was really fun, for me anyway! I was pretty excited to hang baby clothes in the closet! So, we have officially put away all of the Christmas decorations and tree, and now we are awaiting the new year, with a lot to look forward to! I can't believe that we are getting so close to having our baby already! Time is really flying by! Everything was looking good at our last doctor's appointment. DJ's heartbeat was strong and the rate was good! We go back in a couple weeks to have the blood sugar tested and then we will start going back every 2 weeks! I hope that everyone had a great holiday! We will continue to put up baby updates as we have them!!!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!  This is a day to really think about the things you are thankful for year-round, and share them! So, here are some of the things I am thankful for!

I am thankful for my wonderful, loving husband who is here for me each and every day, doing whatever he needs to make sure I am taken care of! 

I am thankful for our baby boy, "D.J." who is currently in my belly, but will be here in April!!!

I am thankful for our families and everything they have done for us! I am especially thankful for my mom, who is also my best friend! 

I am thankful for our friends, for sticking with us for so long! 

I am thankful for our jobs, and thankful to have made it through nursing school!

I am thankful for our home, and everything we have in our home!

I am thankful for our puppies, Bella and Zoey, and our kitten, who still has no name for always cheering me up, even after they tear things apart when we aren't home!

And.....I'm thankful to GOD for bringing all of these things into my life! 

These are just a few of the things on my list of things that I'm thankful for! Life really is great!!!!!

Half Way To Baby!!!!!!

Well, we are officially half way through the pregnancy and doing wonderfully! We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and he said everything is looking great! I had only gained 4 pounds since the last appointment, at which I had lost 6, so he is very happy w my weight as well! (So am I!!!) 

On another note, Saturday night, my grandpa fell while working outside being a goofball and broke his hip. He ended up having surgery on the hip on Sunday, during which they found out he has Atrial Fibrillation, which is not being treated...HELLO! So, now he will need to see a cardiologist, of my recommendation of course!!! Other than that, he is doing pretty good, staying knocked out due to the morphine, but otherwise he should be sent to inpatient physical therapy/rehab for about 10 days tomorrow and then home!

It's A Boy!!!

It's A Boy! We found out last week that we're having a baby boy and we are so excited!!! I'm so anxious to decorate the nursery and buy cute baby clothes! I will put up the ultrasound pictures when I get them! They said everything still looks good and that my due date looks right on, so I guess we'll be meeting baby D.J. in April!!!

On another exciting note...we've been in our new house now for a month and we are loving having our own place! It's really nice to have our own home to come home to every night! It's especially nice that we only have about a 10 minute drive back and forth to work now! I still have a lot of unpacking and decorating to do, but things are definitely coming together!!!

1st Baby Appointment

We had our first baby appointment this morning! Everything went great! We are about 7 1/2 weeks along and the due date is April 8th, 2009! We even got to see the heartbeat, which was way cool! I'll keep everyone updated as we go!!!

Life is Good!!!

Well, where to start! The wedding went absolutely wonderful! Everything was beautiful and even better than what I had pictured! I should have the link for our pictures this week, which I will post as soon as I get it! Last week, I started my nursing orientation at work, which is really exciting, because that means I'm finally becoming a real nurse! It's an awesome feeling! Then, last Wednesday night, I took 2 pregnancy tests, and 1 on Thursday morning........Yep, I'm pregnant! I had stopped taking my pills a while back because Donny and I were afraid that it would take a few years for me to get pregnant since my mom had problems, and because I have endometriosis really bad......and it didn't! We are both pretty excited! I'm already having the bad morning sickness EVERY morning, and I have a really poor appetite, but I guess that just kind of goes along with the blessing we will have next spring! I will go to see my doctor on the 25th, so I will put up the updates when I get them! Also, our brand new niece was born last Friday, 8-8-08 at 1:35 am! She's so sweet! Gabriella Dawn was born at 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 1/4" long! Well, I think that is all of the updates for now! I will post some pictures soon!!!

2 Weeks To Go!!!

Hey all!!! So, we are at our 2 week mark! I can't believe we only have 2 weeks left until our big day! It has definitely flown by! All of our planning is pretty much done and now we are just taking care of the final details! I am so excited!!! It's going to be great to have all of our family and friends together with many of them being from out of town! Good times! Other big news....I take my state boards for my nursing license on Monday in OKC! I am so nervous....not really about the test, but because reality is starting to set in and I'm realizing that I will be a REAL NURSE! FINALLY! Things are really starting to come together. Also, Donny started his new position this week as a manager at AT&T! He has been there for over 2 years and put in an application for the promotion trying not to get his hopes up but I knew he would get it all along! He is definitely management material so I know that he will do very well! That's pretty much all of my updates for now! I'll let you all know when I get my results from my boards!!! Wish me luck!!!

13 Months Later....

Well, I've finally made it! It's been 13 long months of school, school, school and it's finally GRADUATION!!! Today was our "bell ringing" which is a tradition @ Platt that symbolizes the last bell being rung. The feeling was awesome to finally be at this point. I felt like I had truly accomplished something and reached my goal! Our capping and pinning ceremony is on Thursday evening, and I hope that my family and friends are able to make it to share this very special time with me! Now, I'm almost feeling at ease, because I can focus a lot more on the finishing touches for the wedding! I can't believe it!!!! :) How quickly our lives can change!!!
