It's Been a While!

Through all of my business as a Mom, Wife, Nurse, Student, Daughter, and Friend, I haven't had much time to update our blog, so I thought I'd give a quick update on our family! And, I promise to try to update this more often!

We have had a wonderful summer so far! We kicked it off by visiting San Diego for a week! It was fantastic to see a fabulous old friend, Jessica, and her beautiful baby boy, Gavin! We stayed with my aunt, uncle, and cousins and we had more fun than I could have imagined! From hanging out at the house and eating ice cream to shopping to walking around Coronado and San Diego, we had a blast! We also had the chance to visit my cousin Jennifer and I got to play with her 2 little boys Matt and Jack! It was the first time I've seen them and I could have cried! We spent some time with my Dad as well! I think my Dad found a new love in life....his grandson! It was like seeing a completely new side of my Dad! Needless to say, it was a fantastic trip!

The summer has been full of fun! We have gone camping twice and had lots of fun with great friends! I can't wait until DJ is old enough to take camping! I can picture him now searching for firewood with his Daddy and the boys setting up the tent!

As for the home-front...I have been staying extremely busy with school and work, but the good news is that I'm officially half way done with school. (This part of it anyway! I know I'll go back again in a few years!) DJ is growing like a weed! He's running all over the place and climbing like a little monkey! He talks up a storm, although half of what he says is baby gibberish! We are loving every minute of being parents and truly having a blast with the little guy! Donny is also staying busy with work....and working on his cars!

I have to say that I am extremely blessed to have such great people in my life! Without the love and support of all of my family and friends, I'm not sure how I would be able to get through the things that I am going through right now!

Almost 1!!!

Well, I can't believe DJ will be 1 on April 7th! Time has flown by! He's been walking around like crazy for about 1 1/2 months and talks up a storm, although it's kind of his own language! All in all, we are all doing fabulous! We had some pictures done today of DJ and the 3 of us! He was being really stubborn though and didn't want to smile much so we are going to try to do some more in a couple of days. It was kind of windy outside too so DJ kept scrunching his little nose up! It was pretty funny!

Timeless Moments Photography by Ariel!!!

We had some pictures done in December and I'm a loser for just now getting around to putting them up, but here they are! They were done by an awesome girl named Ariel. Her business is Timeless Moments Photography!!! The ones of DJ are adorable, but our family pictures didn't turn out so well. I think Donny REALLY needed a hair cut (but he refused and got it cut the next day) and I think the black shirts made us look pretty pasty! We are going to have them re-done in April with DJ's 1 Year pictures. I can't believe he is already so close to being a year old!

Updates.....

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! Lots of great food and awesome family! We have all been doing pretty good! I've been staying very busy with working and school, but I keep telling myself that it will all be worth it when I'm finished with school! I'm planning to switch to night shift in January to hopefully make some extra money to save for when we are ready to buy a house! I'm actually pretty excited about it! Weird! D.J. is growing like a weed! The bottom picture below is when I walked down the hall and found him standing there for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago! He is almost fearless and is already trying to let go while standing up. I can't believe that he is almost 8 months old! It's crazy! I hope that all of our friends and family had a great Thanksgiving!

Doctor Update!

DJ had his 6 month check-up today and is a healthy growing boy! He is 17 lbs which is somewhere around the 20th percentile, and 25 inches long which is the 3rd percentile. DJ is a short little guy like his mom! The doctor said he looks great though!

Our Family Updates...

D.J. is 6 1/2 months old now and doing wonderful! I'm not sure what his current height and weight are but we are going to the doctor this wednesday! D.J. is sitting up by himself now and doing great! He is also getting up on his hands and knees and rocking, trying to crawl. He kind of does an army crawl which is really cute. D.J. has gotten both of his bottom teeth in now and one of the top is trying to come in right now. As for Donny and me.....I'm staying really busy working full time, going to school part time, and of course, being a mommy! But, I'm still loving every minute! I'm also doing pretty well with my Scentsy business! It's something that I'm really loving! As for Donny, he is doing about the same...work and car projects! Check back in a couple of days. I will get our doctor updates after we go this week! Love you all!!!
